Would you like to talk to young men in your community about masculinity? Ontario’s White Ribbon has created a bilingual website that is sure to please !
The Let’s Redefine Masculinity website presents various concepts relating to masculinity in society and their impact on people’s lives. We suggest this site, because we believe it is an excellent entry point to building positive masculinity. It offers a number of ideas that you could use in a closed group, for example.
The content of the web page can also be used as the foundation for a kiosk activity or a workshop to be held in a classroom. You could supplement this content with the CAPACS Abitibi-Ouest questionnaire on gendered socialization. Or you could take the opportunity to explore the organization’s other projects and services.
For youth and adults
Whether you are a young man or an older man, it is never too late to question your masculinity. The clear and sensitive explanations of the harmful effects of the ManBox (Masculinity Box) are sure to spark conversations among the male population. White Ribbon
White Ribbon is a Toronto-based organization that seeks to engage boys and men in gender-based violence prevention initiatives. To achieve this, it creates campaigns, tools and models for schools, professionals and other members of our communities. In this way, it challenges the idea of masculinity conveyed by society.
