A pioneer in preventing radicalization in Québec
Founded in Montréal in 2015, Cities Without Violence (formerly the Centre for the Prevention of Radicalization Leading to Violence – CPRLV) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing radicalization and various forms of violence.
Its work addresses all forms of radicalization that may lead to violence, including hate speech, hate-motivated incidents, and gun violence. Through a collaborative, multidisciplinary, and cross-sectoral approach, Cities Without Violence offers solutions that complement traditional policing and judicial responses.
Bringing together professionals from diverse fields, the organization works both to prevent radicalization and to support individuals affected by these issues. It provides assistance to survivors of violence, their loved ones, and professionals working in educational, training, community, and psychosocial settings.
Prevention Services
As part of a proactive, educational approach to violence prevention, Cities Without Violence conducts research, shares knowledge, and develops practical tools tailored to the realities of different communities and organizations. These resources include:

These educational resources help readers better understand the social mechanisms that can contribute to radicalization and violence. Topics include radicalization, hate-motivated incidents, and gun violence. In addition to providing clear and accessible information, the fact sheets offer practical guidance and immediate support strategies for witnesses and those affected.
- Awareness Workshops
Recognizing that radicalization and violence are societal issues, these workshops aim to raise awareness among youth, their families, and community organizations. They help participants develop prevention strategies tailored to their own environments and communities.
