The holidays are behind us, decorations are being put away, and classrooms are coming back to life… No doubt about it, 2026 is underway! To mark this new chapter, the YWCA Montreal is renewing its commitment to education and post-secondary training professionals.
After a 2025 filled with projects and learning experiences, we are excited to present our 2026 service offering: enriched, innovative, and still completely free, designed to support your practices and address today’s challenges.
Training for Informed Practice
To stay up to date in their practice, ongoing training is essential! Aware of the challenges in accessing high-quality content that is both accessible and compatible with busy schedules, the YWCA Montreal is offering two new training programs for post-secondary education professionals. These programs aim to equip resource persons with the knowledge and tools to address sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV):
- A foundational training designed to provide a core understanding of best practices, roles, and responsibilities for SGBV intervention;
- A specialized training on the socioeconomic consequences of SGBV in male-dominated sectors, with an intersectional approach.
These trainings are independent and free and can be taken together or separately. They are available in both French and English.
Awareness Tools to Energize Your Activities
This year, our service set itself a challenge: to make SGBV prevention more engaging, concrete, and motivating! Our SansViolenceFree platform has been enhanced. In addition to informational and awareness-raising articles and a directory of essential resources for violence prevention, you will now also find:
- Downloadable awareness posters;
- Toolkits for effective action against violence;
- Workshops and interactive sessions available to book for training yourself and your organization;
- Virtual reality experiences to give a new dimension to awareness-raising;
- Games and activities to diversify your prevention approaches;
- Awareness videos available for free accesses;
- And many more tools!
Personalized Support
Finally, to further our commitment to professionals in the field, we offer a tailored consulting and support service! Whether it’s to:
- Review or enhance your institutional policy;
- Develop and implement an intervention protocol;
- Strengthen and evaluate your existing prevention initiatives.
Our team is available to help you reinforce your policies and practices in the fight against SGBV!
